The Acer Aspire E 15 is a budget laptop for those who can’t afford the more expensive ones. For a budget laptop, it certainly gives a value for the price it is available for.
The keyboard is backlit which is not common for the price it is available at and has a nice feel to it. At a weight of almost 2.4 kilos, it is neither too heavy nor light. Portable enough to carry around campus.
The ports are also a lot especially the USB ports: three USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port. A DVD drive is also included
For performance, the Acer Aspire E 15 is powered by an 8th Gen Intel i5 and has 8 GB of ram. The storage is 256 GB Solid State Drive.
Though it the processor is not as powerful as the i7, it will still be able to perform well and the solid state drive will also ensure boot up times and launching of applications is also fast.
The display is Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display. Viewing angles won’t be a problem and also the screen will be vibrant and sharp.

The graphics card is a dedicated MX150 which is entry level. It won’t be able to play demanding games at high settings.
But, good enough if settings are brought to low and resolution is also low. Overwatch, Fortnite and PUBG will be able to run well on low to mid settings.
The battery life is also great averaging about 10 hours under normal usage and might be more even power-saving settings are on.

This is one of the lightest gaming laptops you will ever come across. This laptop weighs close to 4.1 pounds and under an inch thick. Light enough to carry to class or group studies.
Build quality too is solid. A combination of brushed aluminium and hard plastic. This gives the laptop a good feel.
The display lid and keyboard deck are made of brushed aluminium whiles the rest of the laptop is hard plastic. The design is almost clean though. All black with only the keyboard and logo having red accents.
Performance-wise you have a beast on your hands. A 9th Gen six-core Intel Core i7, 32GB RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1650 Max-Q. Looking at the hardware, you already know this laptop is a powerful machine.
A high-performance processor and plenty of RAM is more than enough to handle the most demanding applications, multitasking, games and code compiling. This laptop will destroy anything you throw at it.
Plus, the NVIDIA GTX 1650 Max-Q is a capable card. Although not as fast as the full GTX 1650 or GTX 1660 Ti. You will get decent FPS on AAA title games when playing on medium or high settings.
So in terms of performance, you have a beast in your hands.
Storage space is a lot. A fast 512GB NVMe SSD and a 1TB HDD is more than enough space to store your files.
Battery life is not so impressive. You are looking at 4 hours under normal usage. Fortunately, doing a bit of calibration such as switching between integrated and dedicated graphics card will add an extra 1-2 hours.
The display is a 120Hz15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080). A fast enough display to prevent visual distortions (screen tearing, stuttering, and ghosting) when playing games. It is also bright enough and has decent viewing angles.
Overall, the MSI GF63 is a power-house and a good gaming laptop. A great choice if you are a power user and like to play games.

Because it is cheap. There will be some compromises. But, it still has a lot going on for an affordable laptop.
First of all, performance is respectable. The laptop is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and it is similar in performance to the 8th Gen Intel Core i5. Although the i5 is slightly faster than it.
Where the AMD Ryzen 5 beats the Intel Core i5 is the integrated graphics card. The AMD Vega 8 is far superior to that of the Intel HD Graphics. And you will get decent performance when playing casual games. AAA title games, on the other hand, will be unplayable.
The laptop comes with 8GB RAM which is sufficient for a lot of tasks. You also get a lot of storage space. Combined storage space of 128GB SSD and a 1TB HDD.
For the build quality, it is entirely made up of plastic. Since it is a cheap laptop, it is one of the compromises. There is quite a bit of flex in the keyboard area and display. For the form-factor, it is a slim and lightweight laptop. Easy to carry around and fit into your backpack

Here are a few things to look out for when getting the best laptop for computer science.

CPU

Intel Core i7s and i5s are the recommended processors. The same applies to AMD processors – Ryzen 7 and 5. These processors have enough processing power to compile code and handle demanding projects.
